PDZ Domain Containing RING Finger Protein 4 (PDZRN4)
By searching for genes encoding proteins structurally similar to LNX (LNX1) and PDZRN1 (LNX2), Katoh and Katoh (2004) identified PDZRN4. The deduced 1,036-amino acid protein contains an N-terminal RING domain, followed by 2 PDZ domains and 2 C-terminal bipartite nuclear localization signals. PDZRN4 shares 59.9% amino acid identity with PDZRN3. Katoh and Katoh (2004) also identified a PDZRN4 splice variant that encodes a 778-amino acid protein in which the N-terminal 281 amino acids of the full-length protein, including the RING domain and part of the first PDZ domain, are replaced by 23 amino acids.Katoh and Katoh (2004) determined that the PDZRN4 gene contains 11 exons.By genomic sequence analysis, Katoh and Katoh (2004) mapped the PDZRN4 gene to chromosome 12q12.
