Phosphoglycerate Dehydrogenase Like Protein 1 (PHGDHL1)

3-Phosphoglycerate dehydrogenase catalyzes the transition of 3-phosphoglycerate into 3-phosphohydroxypyruvate, which is the first and rate-limiting step in the phosphorylated pathway of serine biosynthesis, using NAD+/NADH as a cofactor. The SNPs rs9513584 and rs4936742 located within the genes UBAC2 (ubiquitin-associated domain [UBA] containing 2) and UBASH3B (ubiquitin associated and SH3 domain containing, B) were also associated with Behçet's disease with P values of 5.8 × 10^-3 and 1.5 × 10^-3, respectively.
