Platelet Endothelial Aggregation Receptor 1 (PEAR1)
PEAR1 encodes a deduced 1,037-amino acid protein with a molecular mass of 150 kD measured by Western blot. PEAR1 contains a predicted transmembrane domain, an NPXY motif, 15 EGF-like repeats in its extracellular domain, and 5 proline-rich domains in its intracellular domain. PEAR1 also contains 4 potential tyrosine phosphorylation sites.
The protein shares approximately 77% sequence identity with the mouse homolog as well as overall sequence homology with human KIAA1780 and KIAA1781. Quantitative PCR of cell lines showed highest expression of PEAR1 in human vascular endothelial cells (HUVECs), and moderate expression in megakaryocytes, osteoblasts, coronary smooth muscle cells, and erythroid cells.
