TIH1; TDAG51/Ipl homolog 1

Pleckstrin Homology Like Domain Family A, Member 3 (PHLDA3)
The deduced 127-amino acid human protein, which is nearly 100% identical to the mouse protein, contains, like its homologs, a central pleckstrin homology (PH) domain that mediates associations with membrane phosphatidyl inositol lipids. Northern blot analysis revealed expression in all fetal tissues tested except liver and wide expression in adult tissues. Western blot analysis showed expression of an approximately 14-kD protein. In situ hybridization and immunohistochemical analysis indicated that expression of Phlda3 is lower than Ipl in placenta at 10.5 days postcoitum, but higher at 14.5 dpc. Allelic expression analysis showed biallelic expression in embryonic and adult mouse tissues. PHLDA3 is not involved in parental imprinting, unlike IPL, which maps within the imprinted domain of chromosome 11p15.5.
