Poly ADP Ribose Polymerase 3 (PARP3)
Poly [ADP-ribose] polymerase 3 is an enzyme belongs to the PARP family. These enzymes modify nuclear proteins by poly-ADP-ribosylation, which is required for DNA repair, regulation of apoptosis, and maintenance of genomic stability. This gene encodes the poly(ADP-ribosyl)transferase 3, which is preferentially localized to the daughter centriole throughout the cell cycle. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified.deduced 533-amino acid protein has a calculated molecular mass of about 60 kD. It shares 31% identity with PARP1 and corresponds only to the C-terminal half of PARP1, beginning with the catalytic domain and including the NAD(+)-binding site. PARP3 lacks the N-terminal zinc fingers and central automodification domain found in PARP1.
