Polycomb Group Ring Finger Protein 3 (PCGF3)

RNF3; DONG1; RNF3A; Ring Finger Protein 3

Polycomb Group Ring Finger Protein 3 (PCGF3)
PCGF3 contains a C3HC4 type RING finger, which is a motif known to be involved in protein-protein interactions. The specific function of this protein has not yet been determined.
Transgenic mice bearing oncogenes provide valuable new insights into the process of malignant transformation. One of the best studied transgenic mouse models of hematopoietic malignancies is the transgenic mouse overexpressing the c-myc gene in its lymphoid compartment by virtue of the immunoglobulin heavy chain enhancer (E-mu). These mice develop B-cell lymphomas of clonal origin after a variable latency period. Infection of E-mu/myc transgenic mice with Moloney murine leukemia virus (MuLV) is an efficient way to identify oncogenes that synergize with the transgene.
