Protein Tyrosine Phosphatase F Interacting Protein 4 (PPFIA4)

Liprin-Alpha-4; Protein tyrosine phosphatase receptor type f polypeptide-interacting protein alpha-4

Protein Tyrosine Phosphatase F Interacting Protein 4 (PPFIA4)
Liprins are multivalent proteins with the potential to form complex structures. They are subdivided into alpha-liprins, like PPFIA1, and beta-liprins, like PPFIBP1. The
PPFIA4, or liprin-alpha-4, belongs to the liprin-alpha gene family. See liprin-alpha-1 (LIP1, or PPFIA1) for background on liprins.Serra-Pages et al. (1998) identified a family of genes encoding LIP1-related proteins, or liprins. The sequence of the predicted partial 500-amino acid liprin-alpha-4 protein is 75% identical to that of LIP1. Northern blot analysis revealed that the liprin-alpha-4 gene is expressed as a 7.5-kb mRNA only in heart, brain, and skeletal muscle.
