RAB11 Family Interacting Protein 2 (RAB11FIP2)

nRip11; Rab11-FIP2

RAB11 Family Interacting Protein 2 (RAB11FIP2)
RAB11FIP2 interacted with RAB11A, a dominant-active form of RAB11A, RAB11B, and RAB25. It also interacted with a dominant-negative RAB11A mutant and with the tail of myosin VB (MYO5B). The interaction with RAB11A required the conserved C-terminal amphipathic alpha helix of RAB11FIP2. Rab11fip2, Rab11fip1, and Rip11 coenriched with Rab11a and H(+)K(+)-ATPase on rabbit parietal cell tubulovesicles. Rab11fip2 and Rab11fip1 translocated with Rab11a and H(+)K(+)-ATPase upon stimulation of the parietal cells with histamine. The deduced 512-amino acid protein shares weak similarity with TYL (PSD). Highest expression was in thalamus, followed by amygdala, caudate nucleus, whole adult brain, and ovary. Lowest expression was in spleen.
