RNA Binding Motif Protein 11 (RBM11)

Splicing regulator RBM11

RNA Binding Motif Protein 11 (RBM11)
RBM11 is moderately expressed, only 36.0% of the average gene in this release. RBM11 contains 7 different gt-ag introns. Transcription produces 7 different mRNAs, 5 alternatively spliced variants and 2 unspliced forms. There are 5 validated alternative polyadenylation sites. The mRNAs appear to differ by presence or absence of 2 cassette exons, overlapping exons with different boundaries. 5 spliced mRNAs putatively encode good proteins, altogether 5 different isoforms (4 complete, 1 partial), some containing RNA-binding region RNP-1 (RNA recognition motif). The remaining 2 mRNA variants (2 unspliced) appear not to encode good proteins. There is one article specifically referring to this gene in PubMed. Proteins are expected to have molecular functions and to localize in nucleus.
