RNA Binding Motif Protein 4B (RBM4B)

RBM30; RBM4L; ZCCHC15; ZCRB3B

RNA Binding Motif Protein 4B (RBM4B)
RBM4B Contains 1 CCHC-type zinc finger.Contains 2 RRM (RNA recognition motif) domains.RBM4 encodes a member of the RNA recognition motif (RRM) class of RNA-binding proteins and is essential for embryonic development. Jackson et al. (1997) identified a human EST that has significant homology to lark.
The human gene, called 'RNA-binding motif protein-4' (RBM4), encodes a predicted 366-amino acid protein that contains 2 RRM-type RNA-binding motifs and a retroviral-type (RT) zinc finger. In the N-terminal segment, the amino acid sequence of RBM4 is 50% identical to that of lark. Jackson et al. (1997) also identified mouse Rbm4 ESTs and found that the encoded protein is virtually identical to human RBM4. By Northern blotting, human RBM4 was expressed as a 1.8-kb mRNA in all tissues tested.
