RNA Polymerase II Associated Protein 1 (RPAP1)

RNA Polymerase II Associated Protein 1 (RPAP1)
By sequencing clones obtained from a size-fractionated fetal brain cDNA library, Nagase et al. (2000) cloned RPAP1, which they designated KIAA1403. The transcript contains repetitive elements in its 3-prime UTR, and the deduced protein contains 1,337 amino acids. RT-PCR ELISA detected moderate expression in all adult and fetal tissues and specific adult brain regions examined.
Jeronimo et al. (2007) identified RPAP1 as an RNA polymerase II-associated protein in HEK293 human embryonic kidney cells and obtained a full-length RPAP1 cDNA by database and sequence analyses. The deduced 1,393-amino acid protein contains an ARM domain that mediates protein-protein interactions.
