RNA Polymerase III, DNA Directed Polypeptide D (POLR3D)
POLR3D complements a temperature-sensitive mutant isolated from the BHK-21 Syrian hamster cell line. It leads to a block in progression through the G1 phase of the cell cycle at nonpermissive temperatures. Two temperature-sensitive mutants have been isolated from the BHK-21 Syrian hamster cell line. Both of the human genes that complement these mutations, designated ts11 and tsBN51, lead to a block in progression through the G1 phase of the cell cycle at nonpermissive temperatures. The tsBN51 gene encodes a highly charged novel protein of 395 amino acids whose biochemical function had not yet been determined . This is one of a considerable number of temperature-sensitive mutants which have been mapped to various autosomes and in several instances to the X chromosome.
