Ras Related GTP Binding Protein C (RRAGC)

GTR2; RAGC; TIB929; GTPase-interacting protein 2

Ras Related GTP Binding Protein C (RRAGC)
RRAGC is a monomeric guanine nucleotide-binding protein, or G protein. The deduced 399-amino acid protein contains 3 phosphate/magnesium-binding motifs, 3 guanine nucleotide-binding motifs, and a C-terminal leucine zipper and coiled-coil structure. RRAGC and RRAGD share 81% amino acid homology, including 90% identity in their central portions; the N and C termini are less conserved.
RRAGC interacted with both the GDP- and GTP-bound conformations of RRAGA. Deletion analysis showed that the C-terminal regions of RRAGC and RRAGA mediated the interaction. The authors also showed that the subcellular localization of RRAGC was influenced by the nucleotide-bound state of RRAGA and its localization.
