Regulating Synaptic Membrane Exocytosis 4 (RIMS4)
Wang and Sudhof (2003) cloned rat Rims4, which they called Rim4-gamma, and identified human RIMS4 by database analysis. The deduced protein contains a C2B domain. Northern blot analysis of rat tissues detected Rims4 expression in brain only.
Wang and Sudhof (2003) determined that the RIMS4 gene contains 6 exons and spans 54.5 kb.
By genomic sequence analysis, Wang and Sudhof (2003) mapped the RIMS4 gene to human chromosome 20q13.3 and to mouse chromosome 2H3.
