Rho Related BTB Domain Containing Protein 2 (RHOBTB2)
RHOBTB2 is a member of the evolutionarily conserved RHOBTB subfamily of Rho GTPases. For background information on RHOBTBs. RHOBTB2 contains all of the domains characteristic of RHOBTB proteins. The C-terminal domain consists of about 80 amino acids in 4 consecutive alpha helices, with the last third having a high content of charged residues. RHOBTB1 and RHOBTB2 share 77% nucleotide identity, and RHOBTB2 shares 88% nucleotide identity with mouse Rhobtb2. Northern dot blot analysis revealed weak but ubiquitous expression of RHOBTB2, with highest levels in neural tissues. Expression of RHOBTB2 was also detected in fetal lung, heart, and brain. Northern blot analysis of mouse tissues revealed expression in most tissues, with highest expression in brain
