Ribonucleoprotein, PTB Binding 2 (RAVER2)

Ribonucleoprotein, PTB Binding 2 (RAVER2)
RAVER2 shows 45% overall sequence homology with the mouse Raver1 protein and has a similar functional domain organization including 3 N-terminal RNA recognition motifs, 2 putative nuclear localization signals, and a central leucine-rich region. Northern blot analysis of mouse embryos (E8.5-E14.5) revealed Raver2 transcripts at all examined developmental stages, similar to expression levels of Raver1. In adult mice, Raver2 shows restricted expression in brain, lung, and kidney, whereas Raver1 is ubiquitously expressed. In situ hybridization showed that Raver2 expression begins in neuroepithelium and continues in dorsal regions of fore-, mid-, and hindbrain. It is also expressed in dorsal root ganglia, branchial arches, and developing limb buds.
