SAM Domain, SH3 Domain And Nuclear Localization Signals 1 (SAMSN1)
SAMSN1 encodes a deduced 441-amino acid protein containing 2 domains frequently associated with signaling molecules: an SH3 motif, which shares 39% homology with the SH3 domain of the CRK protein, in the middle half of the protein, and a SAM domain toward the C terminus. It also contains several predicted consensus nuclear localization signals and a tyrosine kinase phosphorylation motif. Northern blot analysis revealed expression of a 2.2-kb SAMSN1 transcript in human immune tissues and hematopoietic cell types including normal bone marrow, acute myeloid leukemia, and multiple myeloma; low-level expression was seen in other tissues such as heart, brain, placenta, and lung. Polyclonal antibodies against SAMSN1 recognized a 49.5-kD protein.
