SLIT And NTRK Like Protein 3 (SLITRK3)

SLIT And NTRK Like Protein 3 (SLITRK3)
Members of the SLITRK family, such as SLITRK3, are integral membrane proteins with 2 N-terminal leucine-rich repeat (LRR) domains similar to those of SLIT proteins.SLITRKs are expressed predominantly in neural tissues and have neurite-modulating activity .The deduced protein contains 977 amino acids. RT-PCR ELISA detected high expression in brain and liver, intermediate expression in lung and ovary, and weak expression in all other tissues examined. The deduced Slitrk3 protein contains an N-terminal signal peptide, followed by 2 LRR domains, a transmembrane domain, and a cytoplasmic domain with a putative tyrosine phosphorylation site. Each LRR domain is flanked by cysteine-rich regions. In situ hybridization of developing mouse brain detected broad Slitrk3 expression.
