Small Proline Rich Protein 2G (SPRR2G)

Small Proline Rich Protein 2G (SPRR2G)
SPRR2G, a member of the SPRRs family preferentially expressed in the suprabasal cells of keratinized epithelia, and localized essentially in the spinous cells. A whole set of genes linked to DNA remodeling and cell proliferation was also up-regulated. On the other hand, the Small Proline-Rich Protein 2G (SPRR2G) and S100 calcium binding protein P (S100P) andKeratin 1B genes were down-regulated by DHEA. Additionally, desmosome-associated corneodesmosin (Cdsn), a late marker of terminal differentiation of keratinocytes as well as Claudin-8 were also downregulated in the group of DHEA 2% measured after 8 weeks of treatment. Finally, the expression of two other genes involved in terminal differentiation of keratinocytes, namely the Late envelope protein 7 (LEP7) and the Jagged 1 (JAG1) genes, were also downregulated by DHEA.
