Solute Carrier Family 10, Member 7 (SLC10A7)
Using large-scale sequencing of a human fetal brain cDNA library, Zou et al. (2005) identified a novel cDNA, SLC10A7, which they called C4ORF13. The deduced 340-amino acid protein contains a typical sodium/bile acid cotransporter family (SBF) domain, 10 possible transmembrane domains, and a putative O-linked glycosylation site.
SLC10A7 shares 94% and 87% amino acid sequence identity with mouse and Xenopus orthologs, respectively. RT-PCR revealed that SLC10A7 is expressed at high levels in liver and lung, moderate levels in placenta, kidney, spleen, and thymus, and low levels in heart, prostate, and testis.Zou et al. (2005) determined that the SLC10A7 gene contains 12 exons and spans more than 266.9 kb.
