Solute Carrier Family 25, Member 36 (SLC25A36)

SLC25A36 belongs to the mitochondrial carrier family. It contains 3 Solcar repeats and has three isoforms. Finally, Cact, Mrs3/4 and Slc25a36 are all three present in mitochondria shuttling metabolites across the inner mitochondrial membrane. Cact and Mrs3/4 transport fatty acyl carnitines for fatty acid oxidation and iron, respectively. The function of Slc25a36 is currently not known. Finally, Fuct1 (Slc35c1) an additional member of the Slc35 family, transporting nucleotide sugars, was downregulated.SLC25A36 (white bars), a gene without an hsa-miR-124 target site, was also determined as a control. Expression in CaSki_ctrl and SiHa_ctrl was set to 100%, respectively. Expression of SLC25A36 was similar in cells with and without ectopic hsa-miR-124 expression.
