Spermatogenesis Associated Protein, Serine Rich 2 Like Protein (SPATS2L)
SPATS2-like protein (spermatogenesis associated, serine-rich 2-like protein) or DNAPTP6 (DNA polymerase transactivated protein 6) is a protein encoded by the SPATS2L gene.
SPATS2L is expressed at very high level, 4.9 times the average gene in this release. SPATS2L contains 36 different gt-ag introns. Transcription produces 35 different mRNAs, 29 alternatively spliced variants and 6 unspliced forms. There are 8 probable alternative promotors, 5 non overlapping alternative last exons and 13 validated alternative polyadenylation sites. The mRNAs appear to differ by truncation of the 5' end, truncation of the 3' end, presence or absence of 11 cassette exons, overlapping exons with different boundaries.
