EVE-3

Sprouty Related, EVH1 Domain Containing Protein 3 (SPRED3)
SPRED3 is a member of the Sprouty/SPRED family of proteins that regulate growth factor-induced activation of the MAP kinase cascade). The deduced 408-amino acid protein contains an N-terminal Enabled (ENA)/VASP homology-1 (EVH1) domain and a C-terminal SPRY domain. Spred3 lacks the central KIT-binding domain found in other Spred proteins due to the replacement of the critical arginine at position 247 with glycine.
Northern blot analysis of several mouse tissues detected Spred3 expression only in brain. Spred3 localized to the membrane of transiently transfected mouse myocytes, and mutation analysis indicated that the SPRY domain was required for membrane targeting.
