Suppressor Of Ty 7 Like Protein (SUPT7L)
SUPT7L is a protein subunit of the human STAGA complex, which is a chromatin-modifying multiprotein complex. STAGA complex is an acyl-CoA-dependent transcriptional coactivator on a chromatin-assembled template in vitro, and they suggested that STAGA may play a role in chromatin activation, transcriptional regulation, and DNA damage repair.
The 3-prime untranslated region of the transcript contains an Alu sequence and 2 MIR repetitive elements. RT-PCR ELISA detected moderate expression in human heart, brain, lung, liver, skeletal muscle, kidney, pancreas, spleen, testis, and ovary. The SUPT7L protein contains a histone H2A fold domain that shares similarity with the same domain in yeast SAGA complex subunit SPT7.
