T Complex Associated Testis Expressed Protein 3 (TCTE3)

TCTEX1D3; Tctex1 Domain Containing 3; T-complex testis-specific protein 3

T Complex Associated Testis Expressed Protein 3 (TCTE3)
The significance of the testis-specific expression of TCTE3, particularly in later spermatogenic stages, was supported by its genetic mapping to a subregion of about 1 cM in the middle of the t-complex, called In(17)3, which contains the distorter/sterility gene Tcd-3. This locus on mouse chromosome 17 is involved in distortion of transmission ratios and male sterility. TCTE3, to the long arm of chromosome 6. By chromosomal in situ hybridization, the assignment was refined to the very distal portion of 6q27. Thus, the TCTE3 gene is close to the TCP1 and TCP10 genes, which are also homologs of t-complex loci. TCTE1 gene and some others are on 6p, indicating a syntenic homology between the proximal and middle portions of the t-complex of mouse chromosome 17 and 6q and between the distal portion of the t-complex and 6p.
