THAP Domain Containing Protein 10 (THAP10)

THAP Domain Containing Protein 10 (THAP10)
By searching databases, Roussigne et al. (2003) identified several proteins containing an N-terminal THAP domain, including THAP10. The THAP domain of the deduced 257-amino acid THAP10 protein includes a C2CH signature, an AVPTIF box, and several other conserved amino acids.
Hartz (2009) mapped the THAP10 gene to chromosome 15q23 based on an alignment of the THAP10 sequence with the genomic sequence.
The THAP domain includes a C2CH signature, an AVPTIF box, and several other conserved amino acids. It appears to be restricted to animal proteins and shows similarity to a DNA-binding domain of Drosophila P element transposase.
