TRAF And TNF Receptor Associated Protein (TTRAP)
TTRAP encodes a member of a superfamily of divalent cation-dependent phosphodiesterases.TTRAP associates with CD40, tumor necrosis factor (TNF) receptor-75 and TNF receptor associated factors (TRAFs), and inhibits nuclear factor-kappa-B activation. This protein has sequence and structural similarities with APE1 endonuclease, which is involved in both DNA repair and the activation of transcription factors. The deduced 362-amino acid protein contains a potential coiled-coil motif between residues 236 and 250. Northern blot analysis detected a 2.2-kb transcript in all tissues tested, with an additional 1.8-kb transcript in testis. Northern blot and in situ hybridization analysis indicated ubiquitous but variable expression in adult and embryonic mouse tissues, with striking expression in fetal thymus and discrete brain regions.
