Tenascin M4 (TENM4)

ODZ4; Ten-4; TNM4; Teneurin 4; Odz,Odd Oz/Ten-m Homolog 4; Teneurin transmembrane protein 4

Tenascin M4 (TENM4)
ODZ4 contains a putative N-terminal signal sequence, followed by 8 EGF -like repeats, a transmembrane domain, and an 1,800-amino acid stretch homologous to other ODZ proteins. Northern blot analysis detected Odz4 expression in early mouse embryos and in adult brain and testis, but not in spleen or liver. In situ hybridization of mouse embryos showed that Odz4 was primarily expressed in the nervous system.
The 3-prime UTR of the cDNA contains a short interspersed element. RT-PCR ELISA detected intermediate expression in lung, ovary, spinal cord, adult and fetal brain, and all specific brain regions tested. Lower expression was detected in testis, kidney, and heart, and no expression was detected in skeletal muscle, pancreas, spleen, and adult and fetal liver.
