Tetratricopeptide Repeat Domain Protein 35 (TTC35)

EMC2; ER membrane protein complex subunit 2

Tetratricopeptide Repeat Domain Protein 35 (TTC35)
TTC35 contains 299 amino acids. Northern blot analysis detected expression in all tissues tested, with highest expression in lung, skeletal muscle, kidney, testis, and colon.
By peptide mass fingerprint spectra, Dreger et al. (2001) identified the mouse homolog of KIAA0103 in a TX100-resistant fraction of nuclear envelope proteins isolated from a mouse neuroblastoma cell line. The mouse homolog is a nonmembrane-spanning protein that contains tetratricopeptide repeats and has an apparent molecular mass of 40 kD. Based on shared similarity with proteins from Nicotiana tabacum and Caenorhabditis elegans, Dreger et al. (2001) concluded that the mouse KIAA0103 homolog is likely an 0-linked glycosyltransferase.
