Transcription factor 25 (TCF25)

Nulp1; Basic Helix-Loop-Helix; Nuclear localized protein 1

Transcription factor 25 (TCF25)
TCF25 is a member of the basic helix-loop-helix (bHLH) family of transcription factors that are important in embryonic development. The deduced protein contains 550 amino acids. RT-PCR ELISA detected ubiquitous expression in all tissues and specific brain regions examined. The deduced 625-amino acid protein has a calculated molecular mass of 70.9 kD. Northern blot analysis detected expression during mouse embryonic stages that decreased in the corresponding adult mouse tissues, with the exception of sustained levels in adult brain. The deduced 676-amino acids human protein has a calculated molecular mass of 76.7 kD and contains an N-terminal bHLH domain and C-terminal DUF654 region with polar and hydrophobic residues. TCF25 shares 89% identity with its mouse ortholog.
