Transcriptional Adaptor 2 Beta (TADA2b)

ADA2-like protein beta

Transcriptional Adaptor 2 Beta (TADA2b)
TADA2B functions as a transcriptional adaptor protein that potentiates transcription through coordination of histone acetyltransferase (HAT) activity and by linking activation factors to basal transcriptional machinery .
The predicted 420-amino acid human protein shares 100% identity with mouse Ada2b and 59% similarity with human ADA2A (TADA2A). Database analysis identified ADA2B homologs in Drosophila and Arabidopsis. Western blot analysis detected a 55- to 62-kD ADA2B protein in the nuclear fraction of HeLa cells.ADA2B did not coimmunoprecipitate with the PCAF complex, but it did interact with PCAF, GCN5, and the chromatin remodeling Swi/Snf complex protein BAF57 in yeast 2-hybrid analyses. Several assays showed that ADA2B associated with BAF57-/BRG1-containing complexes in vivo.
