ANG1; DHCR14A; NET47; Delta(14)-sterol reductase; Another new gene 1 protein; C-14 sterol reductase; Putative sterol reductase SR-1; Sterol C14-reductase

Transmembrane 7 Superfamily, Member 2 (TM7SF2)
TM7SF2 contains 8 exons spanning approximately 4.4 kb of DNA. The authors detected a 1.7-kb TM7SF2 transcript in a subset of human tissues by Northern blot analysis. The deduced 590-amino acid TM7SF2 protein is a transmembrane 7 superfamily member with a calculated molecular mass of 63 kD. The predicted protein has an N-terminal half that is rich in glycine and arginine residues, and a C-terminal half that contains 7 transmembrane domains and many proline residues; a number of potential glycosylation and phosphorylation sites are present. The transmembrane region shares 59% identity with the transmembrane region of the lamin B receptor and 38 to 46% identity with the transmembrane regions of the C14 sterol reductases from different species.
