TruB Pseudouridine Synthase Homolog 2 (TRUB2)

TruB Pseudouridine Synthase Homolog 2 (TRUB2)
Pseudouridine is an abundant component of rRNAs and tRNAs and is enzymatically generated by isomerization of uridine by pseudouridine synthase.
By using TRUB1 sequence as query in database analysis, Zucchini et al. (2003) identified TRUB2. TRUB2 contains 1 TruB domain and shares 30% identity and 45% similarity with TRUB1. Phylogenetic analysis showed that TRUB1 and TRUB2 group together with the original eubacterial tRNA synthases, distinct from DKC1.Zucchini et al. (2003) determined that the TRUB2 gene contains 8 exons spanning approximately 13 kb.By genomic sequence analysis, Zucchini et al. (2003) mapped the TRUB2 gene to chromosome 9.
