UHRF1 Binding Protein 1 Like Protein (UHRF1BP1L)

UHRF1 Binding Protein 1 Like Protein (UHRF1BP1L)
UHRF1BP1 May act as a negative regulator of cell growth. Homodimer (Potential). Interacts with UHRF1. A fourth newly identified SLE risk locus is defined by a nonsynonymous allele (R454Q) of UHRF1BP1 (ICBP90 binding protein 1). This allele encodes a nonconservative amino-acid change in a putative binding partner of UHRF1, a transcription and methylation factor linked to multiple pathways. The UHRF1BP1 risk allele is in a region of extended LD that encompasses multiple genes, including SNRPC (small nuclear ribonucleoprotein polypeptide C), which is part of a RNA processing complex often targeted by SLE autoantibodies. A locus in UHRF1BP1 encodes a nonconservative amino acid change, and the region includes a gene involved in an RNA processing complex frequently targeted by SLE autoantibodies.
