Zinc Finger, MYM-Type Protein 5 (ZMYM5)
Zmym5 is one of the interacting proteins identified from mouse E7.0 cDNA library. The expression of zmym5 was detected at E7.5 in epiblast and at E11.5 in forebrain, limbs, otocyst, and heart of mouse embryos by whole mount in situ hybridization. The localization of Zmym5 in nucleus has been clarified in cell culture system. Zmym5 protein can be detected by this antibody either on western analysis or immunoprecipitation. In addition, the interaction between Eomes and Zmym5 is confirmed by co-immuno- precipitation, and the interaction domain of Zmym5 with Eomes is further identified by peptide mapping. Furthermore, overexpression of zmym5 can suppress mixl-1 expression mediated by Eomes in the cell culture system, suggesting a biochemical role of Zmym5 on modulating the activity of Eomes in vivo.
