Zinc Finger CCCH-Type Containing Protein 11A (ZC3H11A)

ZC3HDC11A

Zinc Finger CCCH-Type Containing Protein 11A (ZC3H11A)
The mouse Zc3h11a gene contains 18 exons. Intron 1 of both mouse and human ZC3H11A contains the ZBED6 gene. The upstream promoter region of mouse Zc3h11a contains several putative binding sites for transcription factors that regulate cell proliferation, and it is predicted to control expression of both Zc3h11a and Zbed6.This variant releases a coexpressed gene, Zbed6, located within intron 1 of the Zc3h11a gene. Other splice variants are formed from exons 5 to 18 only. Northern blot analysis detected variable expression of 3 Zc3h11a transcripts in most mouse tissues examined. In mouse skeletal muscle, highest expression was detected at postnatal weeks 1 and 2. Immunohistochemical analysis detected Zc3h11a in nuclei of postnatal mouse brain and muscle.
