Zinc Finger, CCHC Domain Containing Protein 4 (ZCCHC4)

Zinc Finger, CCHC Domain Containing Protein 4 (ZCCHC4)
By searching databases using the C-terminal methyltransferase domain of C. elegans Lsm12 as query, Albrecht and Lengauer (2004) identified human ZCCHC4. The ZCCHC4 protein contains a methyltransferase domain flanked by zinc fingers. The International Radiation Hybrid Mapping Consortium mapped the ZCCHC4 gene to chromosome 4.
AC2HC-type zinc finger motif, and a putative nuclear localization signal. Northern blot analysis detected restricted expression of Zcchc12 in the ventral forebrain (including septum, amygdala, putamen, thalamus, and hypothalamus) of E11.5-E12.5 mice, and predominant expression in the brain and lower expression in the testis of adult mice.
