Zinc Finger, MYND-Type Containing Protein 19 (ZMYND19)

MIZIP; Melanin-concentrating hormone receptor 1-interacting zinc finger protein

Zinc Finger, MYND-Type Containing Protein 19 (ZMYND19)
The deduced 227-amino acid protein contains a C-terminal zinc finger motif that shares a high degree of amino acid identity to the zinc finger domains of myeloid translocation protein-8 (CBFA2T1), Nervy, DEAF1 (MYND) proteins. ZMYND19 contains multiple putative phosphorylation sites. The deduced human, mouse, and rat ZMYND19 proteins share 100% amino acid identity. Immunocytochemistry of transfected HEK293 cells localized ZMYND19 to the cytoplasm and MCHR1 to the plasma membrane; however, ZMYND19 colocalized to the plasma membrane when cotransfected with MCHR1. Northern blot analysis of human tissues detected a 1.5-kb transcript in all areas of the brain, especially cerebellum, and in heart, liver, skeletal muscle, kidney, testis, placenta, and stomach.
