Zinc Finger Protein 157 (ZNF157)

HZF22

Zinc Finger Protein 157 (ZNF157)
ZNF157is a likely zinc finger family transcription factor. It contains KRAB-A and KRAB-B domains that act as transcriptional repressors in related proteins, and multiple zinc finger DNA binding motifs and finger linking regions characteristic of the Kruppel family. This gene is part of a gene cluster on chromosome Xp11.23.
ZNF157 gene contains 4 exons and spans over 20 kb of genomic DNA. Exons 2 and 3 contain KRAB-A and KRAB-B domains that act as transcriptional repressors in related proteins. Exon 4 contains 12 zinc finger domains and linking motifs similar to those of proteins of the Kruppel family.Northern blots detected a weak 3.5-kb transcript in a transformed B-cell line and a T-cell line.
