cAMP Responsive Element Binding Protein 3 Like Protein 2 (CREB3L2)

BBF2H7; BBF2 human homolog on chromosome 7

cAMP Responsive Element Binding Protein 3 Like Protein 2 (CREB3L2)
CREB3L2 is a member of the old astrocyte specifically induced substance (OASIS) DNA binding and basic leucine zipper dimerization (bZIP) family of transcription factors, which includes CREB3 and CREB4.
CREB3L2 residues 291 to 356 constitute the consensus bZIP domain found in other OASIS transcription factor family members. A conserved leucine zipper motif extends from residues 321 to 359, and an alpha-helical transmembrane domain stretches from residues 376 to 397. RT-PCR analysis demonstrated CREB3L2 expression in most tissues examined, with strongest expression in adult human placenta, lung, spleen, and intestine, and weakest expression in heart, brain, skeletal muscle, thymus, colon, and leukocytes.
