CORS26; CTRP3; Corcs; Cors; Cartonectin; Collagenous repeat-containing sequence 26 kDa protein

C1q And Tumor Necrosis Factor Related Protein 3 (C1QTNF3)
C1QTNF3 contains an N-terminal signal peptide, a collagen-like sequence of 21 Gly-X-Y repeats, and a C-terminal globular domain. RT-PCR analysis detected expression in cDNAs from human osteosarcoma, chondroblastoma, and giant cell tumor, as well as in normal fibroblasts, white adipose tissue, and placenta. Northern blot analysis of human tissues detected C1QTNF3 expression in colon and small intestine only.
The deduced 246-amino acid protein has a calculated molecular mass of 26.8 kD. Northern blot analysis of mouse tissues detected expression in rib growth plate, cartilage, and kidney only. In situ hybridization of mouse embryos localized C1qtnf3 expression to precartilagenous and developing cartilage tissues.
