Cysteine Rich Secretory Protein LCCL Domain Containing Protein 2 (CRISPLD2)
Chiquet et al. (2007) identified the CRISPLD2 gene within a region of chromosome 16 associated with nonsyndromic cleft lip with or without cleft palate.
In situ hybridization of mouse embryos showed that Crispld2 was expressed in oropharynx, nasopharynx, mandible, cartilage primorida of nasal bones, palate, and tooth germ at various stages of development. Expression was also detected in fetal liver, but not in other organ systems.
Chiquet et al. (2007) determined that the CRISPLD2 gene contains 15 exons and spans about 110 kb.By genomic sequence analysis, Chiquet et al. (2007) mapped the CRISPLD2 gene to chromosome 16q24.1.
