DnaJ/HSP40 Homolog Subfamily B, Member 9 (DNAJB9)

ERdj4; MDG1; Endoplasmic reticulum DNA J domain-containing protein 4; Microvascular endothelial differentiation gene 1 protein

DnaJ/HSP40 Homolog Subfamily B, Member 9 (DNAJB9)
DNAJB9 belongs to the evolutionarily conserved DNAJ/HSP40 protein family.DNAJ proteins may have up to 3 distinct domains: a conserved 70-amino acid J domain, usually at the N terminus, a glycine/phenylalanine (G/F)-rich region, and a cysteine-rich domain containing 4 motifs resembling a zinc finger domain.
The expression of microvascular endothelial differentiation gene-1 (Mdg1) is increased during the tube-forming process of rat microvascular endothelial cells. Prols et al. (1997) mapped the Mdg1 gene to rat chromosome 6q16-q23 by fluorescence in situ hybridization. They used the same method to map the human homolog, MDG1, to 14q24.2-q24.3.
