Ectonucleoside Triphosphate Diphosphohydrolase 3 (ENTPD3)
ENTPD3 is similar to E-type nucleotidases (NTPases). NTPases, such as CD39, mediate catabolism of extracellular nucleotides. ENTPD3 contains 4 apyrase-conserved regions which is characteristic of NTPases. The catabolism of extracellular nucleotides is mediated by several types of ectonucleotidases, including the divalent cation-dependent E-type nucleotidases (NTPases), such as CD39 .
The predicted 529-amino acid CD39L3 protein contains all 4 apyrase-conserved regions (ACRs) characteristic of NTPases and 2 potential transmembrane segments at the N- and C-terminal ends. Northern blot analysis revealed that CD39L3 is expressed as an approximately 3-kb mRNA in most tissues.
