Interleukin 17 Receptor E (IL17RE)

IL17R-E

Interleukin 17 Receptor E (IL17RE)
Interleukin 17 Receptor E is a protein that shares limited similarity with the interleukin-17 receptor. The function of the encoded protein has not yet been determined. Three alternatively spliced transcript variants of this gene encoding two distinct isoforms have been reported.
Functional IL-17R is a heteromeric complex consisting of at least IL17RA and IL17RC. A number of additional variants exist including IL17RB, which binds preferentially IL17B and IL17E.Receptor which can activate the MAPK signaling pathway and seems to function at or upstream of Ras By similarity. Isoform 2 and isoform 4 may be either cytoplasmic inactive or dominant active forms. Isoform 3 and isoform 5 may act as soluble decoy receptors.
