Leucine Rich Repeat Containing Protein 3C (LRRC3C)

Leucine Rich Repeat Containing Protein 3C (LRRC3C)
LRRC3C Belongs to the LRRC3 family. HC21 genes is a necessary step in understanding the molecular pathogenesis of trisomy 21. The first analysis of the sequence of 21q included 127 previously characterized genes and predicted an additional 98 novel anonymous genes. The HC21 data presented here further emphasize that current gene prediction algorithms miss a substantial number of transcripts that nevertheless can be identified using a combination of experimental approaches and multiple refined algorithms. LRRC3 is a 25 kDa member of the Leu-rich repeat protein superfamily. Little is known about the protein except for the fact that it shows widespread expression. Human LRRC3 is a protein that is 225 amino acids in length. Human LRRC3 is 83% and 81% identical to mouse and canine LRRC3.
