Leucine Zipper Transcription Factor Like Protein 1 (LZTFL1)

Leucine Zipper Transcription Factor Like Protein 1 (LZTFL1)
The human cDNA encodes a deduced 299-amino acid protein with a leucine zipper pattern and coiled-coil domains. It shares approximately 90% sequence identity with the mouse protein. Northern blot analysis detected 2 human LZTFL1 transcripts (1.7 and 3.6 kb), which are likely due to alternative polyadenylation. The shorter transcript was predominantly expressed in testis, but was also detected in heart, skeletal muscle, pancreas, thymus, and fetal kidney. The longer transcript was predominantly expressed in pancreas, thymus, testis, and fetal kidney, and was not detected in liver, prostate, ovary, colon, small intestine, and peripheral blood lymphocytes. LZTFL1 gene contains 10 exons and spans 18 kb. It has a large first intron of approximately 4 kb.
