KDM3B shares significant similarity with rat Tsga (JMJD1A), a protein expressed only in testis. RT-PCR ELISA detected moderate to high expression in all adult and fetal tissues and specific brain regions examined.C5ORF7 gene contains 24 exons and spans about 64 kb.

By EST analysis, screening a bone marrow cDNA library, 5-prime RACE, and RT-PCR, they cloned C5ORF7. The deduced 1,417-amino acid protein has a calculated molecular mass of about 155 kD. It contains a putative zinc finger domain and a bipartite nuclear localization signal. Northern blot analysis of lymphoid tissues detected a transcript of about 7.5 kb. RNA dot blot analysis detected expression in all 50 tissues examined.
