Major capsid protein L1, HPV33 (HPV33 L1)
L1
Human Papillomavirus type 33 (HPV33) is a virus that belongs to the papillomavirus family and is closely associated with the development of cervical cancer and other genital tumors. It is one of the main causes in approximately 5% of cervical cancer cases worldwide and is considered one of the high-risk HPV types. The Human Papillomavirus type 33 L1 protein (HPV33 L1) is the primary capsid protein of HPV33 and plays a crucial role in the formation of the viral particle. The VLPs assembled from HPV33 L1 protein can elicit an immune response in the body, particularly by inducing the production of neutralizing antibodies, which help to prevent HPV33 infections. Currently, some vaccines on the market include HPV33 L1 antigens for the prevention of infections and related diseases caused by HPV33.
