Myosin VIIB (MYO7B)

Myosin VIIB (MYO7B)
By RT-PCR of an intestinal epithelial cell line and a liver cDNA library, Bement et al. (1994) obtained multiple cDNAs encoding unconventional myosins, including a partial cDNA from the intestinal epithelial cell line encoding MYO7B. RNase protection analysis detected expression in the intestinal epithelial cell line.
Chen et al. (2001) cloned mouse Myo7b, which encodes a 2,113-amino acid protein that is 88% identical to the predicted human protein. Northern blot analysis revealed expression of a 7.2-kb transcript restricted to mouse kidney. Immunoblot analysis showed expression of an approximately 240-kD protein in mouse intestine, colon, and kidney, with strongest expression in small intestine.
